General Risk Class:

The ESC Risk Assessment System

The ESC Risk Assessment System is the key to a realistic assessment of your project’s risk level. It results in the necessary measures to minimize the residual risk. It becomes clear whether a safety concept is necessary - and if so, to what extent.

If none is necessary, then you will save money and still be on the safe side. If one is necessary, then you get a valid statement for the number and complexity of required measures very early in the project. This in turn results in an informed estimate of what you need to budget for implementation. This gives you planning security and decision-making authority, because you can see very early in the process whether the intended project is feasible with the available funds.

Preparing the risk assessment and implementing the subsequent process and measures are part of ESC’s core business. We coordinate the risks with you, advise you on the definition of measures and summarize the result in your operating instructions. This ensures that nothing slips the knots and that the important and relevant information reaches those who need to know and implement it - your team and your service providers.

Another important added value: Thanks to our risk assessment, in the event of an accident or damage, you can make a well-founded and solid statement about your risk assessment and indicate which measures you have implemented to minimize the risk.

Your advantages

  • Ensure that, in the event of a claim, you can prove in writing that you have carried out the legally required risk assessment.
  • Get awareness early in the process of which risk class your project is in and which measures need to be implemented and by whom.
  • Coordinate your residual risks with management and authorities in a clear and consensual manner.
  • Provide clarity on which phase of your event requires which skill set to assume your responsibilities.

For whom and when is a risk assessment useful?

Among other things, if you

  • hold events, trade fairs and roadshows and have to explain for which project you are creating an individual safety concept and for which you are not,
  • must carry out a risk assessment in the areas of visitor protection, coordinative occupational safety and infection control in accordance with legal requirements,
  • contract several companies for your project and are required by law to coordinate higher-level occupational safety,
  • no longer want to decide on a gut feeling when which qualification is necessary for the implementation of your project,
  • want to negotiate in a well-founded manner with the authorities about necessary and unnecessary measures for the approval of your project,
  • want to provide detailed documentation in the event of damage, outlining the residual risks that are generally recognized as acceptable,
  • want to explain why you may have made the decision not to create a safety concept.
